The children at Lewannick Pre-school wanted to have a ‘music corner’ so we decided to have a ‘Music Week’ (which turned in two weeks!)
Here are some photos of us enjoying playing and listening to music:
Mr Harrison, Lewannick School’s Music teacher, brought his trombone in to play to us. He also brought some children’s trombones in so that we could play ourselves.
We composed our own music and Mr Harrison used our keyboard to play our pieces. He read the music notes that we had made.
We made our own musical instruments with pots, dry rice and lentils. We decorated them with stickers and shook them while we sang “I am The Music Man”.
We all had lots of fun!

A special “Thank you” to Monica, Sam and Emily for organising it and to everyone who took part in the sponsored run/walk/toddle, donated tombola and raffle prizes and anyone who contributed towards the day. Thanks to all those who were able to attend too.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took part and helped to raise such an amazing amount of money! We look forward to putting the money towards new things for your children to enjoy!

We were very lucky to have had a visit from Shelley and Belinda from the Launceston Tesco Store yesterday. They brought with them some bags of compost and lots of vegetable seeds so that we can grow our own vegetables.
Here we are with our compost and seeds, ready to get planting!
We have now put the compost into our vegetable patch and started to plant some seeds.
We separated the vegetable patch into sections so that we could plant different seeds.

Our Builders’ Yard
We started off with a pile of bricks and worked together to build a wall!
We all worked as a team to build a wall with bricks and ‘cement’.
It was hard work lifting the bricks across our building yard!
We used trowels and spades to dig the sand to make our ‘cement’ for our wall.
We carefully smoothed out the ‘cement’ to build up the wall bricks.
We built up our wall and wore our safety hats to protect our heads.
We were very pleased with our wall building!
We moved the sand from the sand-pit to the cement mixer using wheelbarrows.
We all worked very hard together!
